SUNDAY, JULY 31

The Book of Acts is all about acting or living out the words of Jesus. It is the Word in action. Here, the Holy Spirit begins to take center stage. Let us live by Acts 1:8, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you!"

SUNDAY, AUGUST 7

The Word is love. We are learning from 1 Corinthians that "these three remain: faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love." The words of God to us are full of His love. As we open it and read it, we see His love for us and the world we live in.

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION WITH YOUR KIDS:

The Word shows us how much God loves us. How is the Word love?
When we have the Word in us, we find it is easy to love. How do we get the Word inside us?
How much does God love you?
How can we show others the Word that’s inside us and the love that we've found?

SUNDAY, AUGUST 14

The Word is not just a bunch of stories from 'the olden days', but it is for here, now, today! Living out the Word means that we: spread the Word, love people, love God, are unashamed, make His Vision our vision, believe that His promises are fulfilled now! Let's be people who live out God's Word.

Apply the WORD! Do what it says.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 21

When we know the Word it becomes revelation. Revelation is when the Word is no longer just words on a page—but it is our hearts and we know it for real.

When we know the Word we can speak it easier.
Knowing the Word helps us in the battle.
When we know the Word, people start to notice a difference in us because we know God better.

Our captain is Jesus. How can we hear His commands?
How does God's word get deep into our lives?
What are some of your favorite Bible verses or stories? Start thinking about how God speaks to you in and through His word!

SUNDAY, AUGUST 28

As followers of Jesus, it's so important that we look at the way Jesus lived and learn how we should and can live. Reading the Word tells us how Jesus lived and gives us tools for how to live the best life that we can.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Everything that Jesus did was what the WORD said. The Word already said that Jesus would come.
He spoke the WORD.

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION WITH YOUR KIDS:

Who is Jesus? What is He like? Loving, peaceful, caring, helpful, perfect.
What is the Bible like? Loving, peaceful, caring, helpful, perfect!
What did Jesus do for us when He died on the cross?
How does it make you feel to know that He took your sins (bad choices) away?

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 4

What a great opportunity to celebrate the incredible sacrifice that Jesus made for us—so that we can have eternal life. Jesus lived out the Word of God—the word was made complete when Jesus died and rose again. He is our Savior!

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Share the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection
The word came alive when Jesus broke the power of sin and death.

What do you think it means when we say that Jesus is the word? 
If Jesus is the word and we want to know more about Him, what should we do?
Why is it so important for us to read the bible and understand what it is saying to us?
