Grace is freedom, to me it’s knowing I will never be close to perfect no matter how hard I try, and that’s okay! I love that God gives us room to grow and desires for us to live like Him—but still loves us unconditionally when we make mistakes. God’s grace brings peace and rest to our lives, and He uses our weaknesses to bring Him glory.

Since moving to New York nearly five years ago, I quickly fell into the busyness the city brings. No matter how hard I work, there are never enough hours in the day and always a million more things I'd love (and often need) to get to. I love that as much as I love my job, God continually reminds me that only He is enough. I'll never find satisfaction in what I do, and I am so grateful I can go to Him to find that rest. I'm always falling into the lie that I'll be happy if only X happens in my career when He is the only one who can satisfy!

I love that we can lean into grace at any moment, despite what may be going on in our day! God allows us to bring our frustrations, failures and burdens to Him and carries them. Working as a freelancer photographer in fashion I am always juggling travelling, clients, planning, producing, marketing, retouching, social media, my employees as well as the rejection that's often faced from putting yourself out there! It's a constant reminder to myself that I'm not doing it all alone; God is always in control and has my future in His hands! To me, leaning on grace is reminding myself of this—God loves us and desires us to give our time to Him. I'm so grateful to be able to go to Him at any moment and find the much needed rest I'm longing for.

As a freelancer, finding rest in my life varies daily and doesn't always happen as often as I would like. I love starting the day with prayer and scripture that I can reflect on throughout my busy days. In today's world, with social media and all that we are surrounded with, it is so easy to believe lies that we're not enough or that we'll find happiness once we accomplish our goals. I love that at any moment we can give these things to Jesus and speak His word into our lives knowing that God has given us all that we need and loves us just as we are!

I love how Matthew 28:30 says, "Keep company with me and you will learn to live freely and lightly." This is such an amazing truth that I hope to be reminded of daily! It is amazing that we can walk closely with the Lord at all times—He frees us of stress and gives us true satisfaction in Him.
