DAY 24

When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.

Luke 19:5-7

The verse says “He was happy to welcome him.” I love that line!

Jesus examples that in everything He does He’s reshaping the norm! Breaking down the barriers. It’s so powerful to know Him as "Happy Jesus” because He’s so happy to welcome us to Himself!

I also love that once we experience the acceptance of Jesus it does something to our heart. He goes from being greedy to being generous.

Like a best friend that we can't wait to hang out with because they are awesome — when we spend time with Jesus, we are changed by it. There is immediate transformation in just one touch from Jesus!

The gospel makes us generous, for His kindness leads us to repentance. #happyjesus

Pastor Georgie Kelsey:

Just one moment with Him transforms our heart. I've gotta go — everyone is waking up and I want to spend some time with the One we are talking about before the masses awake … Jesus will be happy to see me!
