Large crowds followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside. Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.
There is no separation between the words of Jesus and His actions. He speaks & confirms His words by His healing power. We can trust Him to act on our behalf because we know His character to be true.
Our unrighteousness does not change His nature. He is not afraid of our dirt and our mistakes, but He reaches out with healing in His hands. With just one touch from Jesus, we are made clean. His grace rids us of the disease of sin, which eats away at who we are. In His presence His image is restored in our lives. His identity is regenerated in us by His saving touch.
