Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared. Then Jesus said to him, “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”
Our uncleanliness has no ill affect on Jesus. He touches what may seem untouchable. It’s technically unlawful for Jesus to touch this leper. But He does anyway. He is the ultimate rule breaker.
All the unclean and broken places of our lives, which run the risk of infecting others with our fear, bitterness, grief, whatever else — these Jesus can and willingly does touch, to make them clean. Whenever He touches us, He makes us more like Himself — clean and whole.
