"He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free"

Luke 4:18

Filmore B:
Jesus, is the TRUTH and it's only through knowing Him that we can be set free. I was standing in the cathedral, just imagining the fact that the reason He's come to set captives free, restore sight to the blind, and free those who are oppressed is because I actually needed this. Just was thinking through the things in my life that have held me captive: sin, thoughts, habits, addictions  etc and how I can hope in the fact that Jesus’ main goal was always to release me from these things. What a love. He planned this out before time.

Georgie K:
Yes, love that! He is prophesying and declaring what will happen through the cross! It's fascinating to me that Jesus goes back to His hometown of Nazareth, where He grew up, to stand in the synagogue He grew up attending as a child to declare His calling and mission. A mission that will change the whole world for eternity! Big things start in small places. He goes back to His humble beginnings to declare a new beginning for everyone!

Georgie K:
And He does that for each of us ... He meets us in our humble circumstance — our lowly state, our seed of a vision, our dream that is not reality — and declares freedom and breakthrough ... even when we can't see it right now, He declares it and speaks it with authority. Freedom not just for ourselves but for the whole world! He gives us a much bigger vision!
