When Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping and saw the other people wailing with her, a deep anger welled up within him, and he was deeply troubled. “Where have you put him?” he asked them .They told him, “Lord, come and see.” Then Jesus wept. The people who were standing nearby said, “See how much he loved him!” But some said, “This man healed a blind man. Couldn’t he have kept Lazarus from dying?”
What moves us moves Him. "Jesus wept" is such profound statement to me. Knowing full well His intention was to resurrect Lazarus, He still grieves with his friends. Why do you think Jesus wept?
"Jesus wept" is super fascinating. In His humanity, He connects with our mourning, our brokenness. He doesn't rebuke our emotions; He humbles himself and weeps alongside us.
Exactly, so good. He examples to us what good friendship looks like. We can learn from His humility & empathy. Even though He knew the future outcome would turn out for their favor, He didn’t diminish their present pain. There is no “wasted” love with Him.
