FATHER'S HEART
Saturday August 26th

Our mission is to declare and demonstrate God's love through practical expressions of compassion. The Father's Heart ministries mission is to help people move forward from dependency to dignity and from poverty to prosperity. Help cook and give meals to the homeless in New York City. Activities will include serving the food, cooking, clean up and distributing grocery bags to guests.

EAST NEW YORK FARMS
Monday August 21st

The mission of the East New York Farms Project is to organize youth and adults to address food justice in our community by promoting local sustainable agriculture and community-led economic development. East New York Farms! is a project of the United Community Centers in partnership with local residents. We will be weeding, fertilizing, and beautifying the garden and surrounding area.

BROOKLYN COMMUNITY SERVICES
Thursday August 24th

BOWLING
Community Habilitation is designed for persons with intellectual disabilities residing in their homes. It provides training in a variety of skills needed to become more independent and integrated in their communities. This program enables staff to work with participants by following Individualized Habilitation Plans and tracking the participant’s progress as they become more independent.

BROOKLYN COMMUNITY SERVICES
Wednesday August 23rd

GARDENING
The BCS Transitional Living Community, supports women who are recovering from severe trauma (domestic violence, sexual assault, and mental health conditions) with temporary shelter and assistance to secure permanent housing. The community garden has become our residents’ preferred setting for many of TLC’s group activities to tending the garden, and/or simply spending time there, is healthy and highly therapeutic

Monday August 21st

CREATIVE INDUSTRIES JOB FAIR
Creative fair for teenagers to learn more about what it means to be a creative and survive as a creative in New York City. Seeking creatives to share their story!

HENRY STREET SETTLEMENT
Wednesday August 23rd

Delivers a wide range of social service, arts and health care programs to more than 60,000 New Yorkers each year. Every day more than 100 low-income seniors gather at the Henry Street Settlement’s Good Companions Senior Center for a nourishing meal and camaraderie. Volunteers will help serve lunch, greatly increasing the efficiency of the meal service, while providing new social opportunities for the seniors.

SISTERS WITH A PURPOSE
Saturday August 26th

Sisters with Purpose seeks to empower women and their families by providing resources that will help them develop necessary skills to become engaged community participants. This mission is furthered through the various programs such as food pantries, back to school fairs, and toy drives. Volunteers will be supporting by helping in food pantry.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Saturday August 26th

BRUSH WITH KINDNESS
Get creative! Volunteers revitalize community spaces including community centers, senior centers and day care centers and shelters in New York City. Our volunteers repair and rehabilitate these vital community outposts through minor fix-ups, painting and landscaping. 

KEEN
Thursday August 24th

Empowers youth with disabilities by providing free, non-competitive one-to-one programs of exercise, fitness and fun, led by volunteer coaches.

NYC RESCUE MISSION

Faith based organization that while providing meals, shelter, and services to the homeless and hungry ,also addresses the deeper emotional and spiritual issues to help them transform their lives, and reconnect with the world.

Changing the culture of poverty through education and outreach. We will be helping prepare and prep the annual back to school back pack give away. Great opportunity to serve with your kids as well perfect for families to join together!

BREAKING GROUND
Friday August 25th

Strengthen individuals, families and communities by developing and sustaining exceptional supportive and affordable housing as well as programs for homeless and other vulnerable New Yorkers. We will be participating with an art gallery event, featuring works from our residents in the Prince George. Volunteers will help set up the gallery, serve hors d'oeuvres, take photographs and close up. This is an opportunity for our residents to engage with the larger community, in which they have worked so hard to re-integrate.

HARLEM GROW
Saturday August 26th

Aims to inspire youth to live healthy and ambitious lives through mentorship and hands-on education in urban farming, sustainability and nutrition. Serves at-risk, NYC youth living in communities with high poverty and unemployment rates.

BEDSTUY AGAINST HUNGER
Wednesday August 23rd & Thursday August 24th

Works vigorously to end hunger in the greater Bedford-Stuyvesant/Brownsville/Ocean Hill neighborhoods of Brooklyn by distributing food and empowering families trough information and support, which will give both strength and dignity to the community.

COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS
Availability all week long

The Coalition for the Homeless is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless men, women and children. We believe that affordable housing, sufficient food and the chance to work for a living wage are fundamental rights in a civilized society.
