What areas in your life can you disrupt sin with forgiveness? Pastor Josh Kelsey gave a message on understanding how we have fallen short so that we can understand and truly experience the true meaning and depth of His forgiveness and what it cost Christ to give this forgiveness to us.
Disrupt Sin with Forgiveness // Josh Neuroth
Sin is that scary word few of us want to discuss. Religion paints sin as a naughty list that goes against God’s divine law. But there’s more to the story.
God cares for us so much, He designed a way to live life that brings us fullness of life. When we sin, our arrow misses the target —we miss out on the life God wants to give us.
God’s way of living is designed to bring us life, not to withhold good things from us. God only desires to give us the real, not the counterfeit.
Religion often deals with the sin problem by completely avoiding the things that make us love life, resulting in people who are boring and colorless. God has a better plan: when we accept His forgiveness, it disrupts our way of dealing with things. His forgiveness covers us, and lifts us up in freedom. When we accept this forgiveness, the power of Jesus floods into our heart. He enables us to live by God’s design: to live by the commands that bring us fullness of life.
Disrupt your perspective on sin by accepting God's forgiveness with a heart of thanksgiving.
"Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us."
