BE THOU MY VISION // MIKE MAITLEN
"A singular focus on Jesus restores innocence and purity in our vision." Ps Josh Kelsey
Do you remember when you first fell in love with Jesus? The moment He captivated your whole heart? You couldn’t help but make Christ your singular focus! This is why I love meeting new Christians—they’re such a beautiful reminder of the innocence and purity Christ brings when He is the sole desire of our heart.
As Ps Josh encouraged us Sunday to make Christ the singular lamp that lights up our lives, I couldn’t help but sense that God was solidifying the foundation of C3 Brooklyn as we embark on the third year of our journey. It’s like He’s giving us the answer in advance – that when the storms come, as they surely will, our hearts must respond in prayer, "Christ, be thou my vision."
The beauty of this whole process is that it is motivated by love. We serve a God who is lovesick for us. He longs for your whole heart, and in turn, He lavishes His affections on you, bringing light into your life.
If there is anything that needs focus or clarity today, let Christ illuminate your life by giving Him your whole heart. And as a church family let’s embark on this third year boldly, knowing Christ, the author and perfector of our faith, is leading us. After all…
Our Vision is Jesus Christ. Our Mission is People. Our Cause is Love.
