TEN : ONE

“I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious – the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly, things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into His most excellent harmonies.”

// Philippians 4:4-9 [MSG]

For some strange reason, the negative voices are often the loudest in our lives. There could be ten positive voices in your world and one negative voice, or ten positive situations in your world and one negative situation. And yet the negative one will always trump the positives! Critical words are crippling and a tough situation can be all-consuming.

As Pastors, Josh and I both know, from experience, that after you speak or share there could be 10 incredible stories of lives changed and impacted but, if you have a ‘Negative Nancy’ or ‘Critical Chris’ who hijacks you after the meeting and tells you off, it can completely cripple you and you can easily forget about the 10 good reports!

It is imperative that we choose to think on good things! We need to count our blessings and forget not His benefits (Psalm 103). The enemy wants us to feel defeated by the weight of the world but God desires for us to lift our eyes and see what He is doing!

We worship God with our minds when we choose to think faith-filled thoughts. When we choose to let our thoughts be governed by His Words and impacted by the good news of His gospel, that is an act of worship.
