“And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”

// Ephesians 1:22-23

How powerful is it that we have access to the fullness of God? We can be filled in every way so that God may dwell in our hearts. In this verse Paul is writing a letter to the Church in Ephesus. His prayer for the Ephesians is also for all of us: that we would be strengthened on the inside, and be built up and encouraged as a church, to open up for more of Him; that we would understand that Christ, in whom the “fullness of Him” resides, is the head of the Church.

God uses the church to fill us up, empower us, and build us so then we may go out into the world. Having His fullness isn’t just for our own lives entirely, but it is also so we can be filled to overflow onto others and do His work. By serving in the House, we are passionately pursuing God’s heart for others. By faithfully being a doer, we show God that our time and talents are His, that we value His house, and we want to build it up.

Sometimes I wonder why God believes in me, why He has put me here in C3 Brooklyn, and why I have been called to serve in this house, and I realize it's so simple: it's to experience His joy, fully. In His presence there is fullness of joy, which I think comes alive in the church. It's so I can do life with, learn from, and grow alongside others that are passionate about Christ and His church. It’s so I can give my heart to this community and in turn be filled, filled to overflow, so each week I can go into this city and pour out.

My hope in being a part of this church is that I give wholeheartedly of myself so that I may be filled up, so I can be sent out. That we all may be part of the overflow of what God is doing through C3 Brooklyn that is my prayer.
